    This five-CD set, despite the lack of definitive liner notes, is highly recommended. The bulk of this package (most of four discs) features the Nat King Cole Trio on radio transcriptions during and these renditions are easily the equal of their more famous studio recordings. The fifth disc is a hodgepodge that reaches back to for six numbers and forward to for a few songs 9/

    On this recording, to be clear it is not really the 'Nat King Cole Trio' but rather 'Nat King Cole and his Trio' plus a few guest on and off, so maximum minimalism takes a back seat on this 'mid-career' release. This current reissue is part of Analogue Productions' wonderful Nat King Cole series.
